High Country Camping Retreat 2023 TBA
This retreat will take place at a location TBD in the high country of Nevada. Participants will have the opportunity to camp out with their horses or stay in a bunkhouse with others.
Taking your horse to new places can often be a challenge.
When we take our horses away from their home and their herd, all they have is us. Spending the night in a new place with your horse often brings up a bit of anxiety for both of you.
Samantha Szesciorka will be facilitating this retreat with me and she is an expert at wilderness camping and riding. She will be teaching how to safely ride long distance in the wilderness and all the things we need to know and have to do so.

I will be focused on horsemanship and having a meaningful connection with your horse as their leader. I will teach skills and practices that will help participants to stay present and grounded for their horses. As well how to recognize how your horses is handling the experience and what you can do to help them through it.
As their leaders, we must help them adjust and know they can count on us to protect and care for them. The focus of this retreat is the relationship and partnership we have with our horses. We will explore herd dynamics and the psychology and behavior of horses and humans.
We will spend time each day going over horsemanship and wilderness riding, as well as going on mountain trail rides that will be for at least 3 hours at a time.
This experience will teach you powerful ways to enhance how you communicate with your equine. You'll learn to speak the language of the horse as you witness the transformation within the partnerships of all participating.
This retreat is unlike any we have taught in the past and likely any you have attended. We will ask both ourselves and our horses to stay with present, be brave and connected, and to take care of each other.
Taking our trust, connection and confidence in each other to a level you never knew was possible.
Please note: Must be at least an intermediate rider and be able to spend at least 3 hours in the saddle at a time. Horse owners assume all responsibility for their horses.
During the evenings, we will relax and enjoy about horses, horsemanship, and connecting with the other participants.
